I was sceptical when I bought it because I assumed the sellers enhanced their photos but honestly, it really is a true black color! It is really startling in person!

So pretty! Thank you for sharing!
How large do these get? I recall seeing a photo somewhere of this plant with a woman standing beside it, and it was as tall as she was, but maybe that was a different plant and I'm misremembering it.

Magnificent blooms and quite floriferous=some of these plants manage only four to five flowers....yes you must stake it or give the spike support = you don't want it to break....the flowers will last more than a month....CONGRATULATIONS!

I'm not sure, anyone else know? I would be the happiest girl in the world if my two got that large!

Thanks, Bud! I have a second spike on this plant too! It hasn't opened yet though.

This particular hybrid will never get that big. The largest parent in the background is pileatum and that one usually tops out around 24" or so.
Excellent job on the blooms, Corsetiere. It's beautiful! Hope it's still in bloom for the meeting next week.
Mine hasn't set spike yet but it might still be a bit too young to bloom.
