I split my plant into 3 bulbs a couple of weeks ago.

One is gradually turning yellow, presumably it will die.

The second is growing on strongly - photo 1, and is the only one I am watering. Roots are branching too.

The third is growing weirdly - there is a growth at the base - normal, but there is also a growth 1/2 way up the bulb. Is this normal ? Do these keiki ? It certainly looks like a keiki !

I have read that Catasetinae can keiki from nodes on the pseudobulb.

Thanks, I hadn't even thought of doing a search.
Anyway I eventually found this article which does mention new growths along the pbulb and how to grow them on.

the pbulb growing in the first photo matured and is now spiking. What do I do as these are supposed to be heading for dormancy ? I had cut down on watering, but the leaves are still glossy and show no signs of yellowing.
Do I water say 1x per week just to keep the bulb plump while the spike develops ? Fred Clarke's site says stop watering completely by 15 Jan, regardless, but doesn't mention what to do if a spike is growing......

Spikes don't count as active growth and new growths (not a keiki) up p-bulb on a stressed plant is normal.

If your plant is still in active growth, water as you normally would during a growing season and keep temps at or above a minimum of 55-60 degrees.
