Cody, I can only go by photos posted online since I do not own a Black Pearl myself. To me, they are very comparable. So much so that I really don't see a difference when comparing the two.

Mine is just losing its last blooms. The flowers were a deep, deep red that was evident when back lit.

Saw several at the Sarasota Orchid show 2 weeks ago. Think one won 2nd in its category.
