Catasetum-ian - well done!! I love denticulatum but even more than that I love your clay pots, there used to be a time when we could get good quality clay pots in the US, not any more, it seems everything here comes from China and is of very poor quality. What they sell as clay pots are actually cement with a thin coat of terra cotta over it. I still have plenty of old Georgia clay, heavy duty pots that I cherish.

i did came across one or two of those imitation clay pots. its not easy to get good quality clay pots here, the new ones here are not as good they used to be. all the pots i am having now are second hand pots that i purchased from a nursery, better quality!

Best Catasetum species!!!! Congrats on growing this one! How bright do you grow this, what temps and how severe do you make the dormant stage?

dun have a measurement of light intensity with me but basically just under a piece of those black netting from hardware shop and they are out 24/7 in the sun, in 100% charcoal media, can line a string or two of sphag moss in in (i dun like packing a tight ball of moss in it)
temperature can range from 32-42 during day light and night time can be as cold as 26.
during dormant phase, minimal watering, just a heavy watering as soon as i notice the bulbs are shriveling. i guess the NONE to minimal amount of moss in the pot would be of benefit at this time.
one thing i did notice is that for most of my orchids, by the time i get back from work in the late evening, the media are all dried up, i guess this helps. then i would resume watering in late evening.

Nice one Ian !!! I just got a denticulatum at our NCOS show and it's in spike bud now. Couldn't believe how small the plant was when in bloom, it was the first one I saw in person !
