I thought I had killed my only barthiorum last year (too bad, it was STUNNING too! ) but luckily, I was wrong! Somewhere along the line I picked this little guy up. I believe it is a first bloom and I'm pretty happy with it. As you can see it has the nice dark pink coloration that makes this species on of my favorites! This one was kind of forgotten about and is growing on a rock next to a potted vanilla plant that has wound itself off into the jungle somewhere! lol Anyway, enjoy!

Hi, do you guys know which barthiorum hybrids are common? I bought a plant, which was labelled chlorochilon: it is however barthiorum like, but did not lookm right. I will post when the flowers open.

The most common barthiorum hybrid is probably Jean Monnier. That actually might be the most common Cyc hybrid of any parentage actually.

Yes, I love the dark pink ones! I got this from H&R here in Hawaii. It seems like all of their barthiorums have the deep pink coloration. I'm not sure if they breed their own or bring them in from Sunset Valley.

That may be it, based on the blurry pic from last year: will be certain to check this year.
