Stanhopea wardii
I am not really a stanhopea fan but I saw the flowers during the weekend and I did not want to loose the opportunity to shoot and share a couple of pics. I forgot to mention its extraordinary fragance that is so strong that can be compare it to the strength of the Cycnoches clorochilon.

Very nice display, Bruno. It looks well grown. You are right about the fragrance - very strong!

I like the green in the petals. Not very common.

Well, I've had this species for close to three years.
It grows all right, but doesn't bloom. Any tips? Thanks!

Try letting it grow bigger! I've noticed some Stans need to be huge before they are ready to bloom. Also, try cutting back on the water by a lot in winter.

How huge? It's in a 6 inch basket and has 7 very fat pbulbs. Tripled in size over the 2 1/2 - 3 years since I got it.

It will probably bloom in the next year or two.
