Rebecca Northen 'Mikabi' are these spikes or new growths?
Default Rebecca Northen 'Mikabi' are these spikes or new growths?

At first they looked like new bulbs since they have new roots. Then they started growing what looks like a spike from the top of the bulbs. This is my first time growing a Clowesia so I'm not sure if this is normal. Thanks for any help!

Those are spikes! Clowesia rosea hybrids (like Rebecca Northen), along with the species, are starting so spike now, to bloom in January or early February, while still quite dormant. (When mine bloom, they're completely leafless, new growth starts right after blooming but watering is still several months in the future)

Wow congratulations, that's a lot of spikes for one bulb!
