Catasetum Christine Chowning
First time blooming - nicely spaced large blooms with no scent as of yet.

What a lovely shaped bloom, like wings set to fly. And a striking color lip. Nice one!

A basic question here
This orchid has couple of mature and dormant pseudo bulbs, a flower spike and a young pseudo bulb which is in active growth.
How should we treat this one? Should we water it as usual until the young pseudo bulb matures? Or should we cut down the water?
If we cut down the water, what happens to the young pseudo bulb with green leaves ?

I would cut watering until the roots on the newest growth are 4" long, then resume watering/fertilizing as normal.

This year the spike is much larger, second spike developing and blooms look larger - this year 10cm across.
