I had one of these that I divided. I switched to pots of half small rocks on the bottom and half sphag on top sitting in saucers of water. The bulbs immediately plumped up. Hoping for some good blooms in the future, maybe not this year because of the division, but in future years.

Also, I'm planning on bringing it outside for the summer, my indoor conditions don't really suit it that well.

The thing is even thought it's a stink, it's still a flower. So it doesn't gross me out like smelling an actual dead rat would. To me it's hilarious—first time I smelled an echinolabium I just couldn't stop laughing

Yes I always say, if the smell is coming from a living healthy plant ITS OK, nothing to be grossed out about.
