I have no idea how long it takes before a small plant blooms. As you can see, my plant is quite small but still set bud. I only started growing bulbos about 3 months ago so I really can't give out any help.
I find those little guys so interesting. How such a small plant will grow on a piece of wood or cork, and live, and even bloom, even tho all it's roots are hanging out, fascinates me. The biggest problem I have with them is remembering to water them so often. My other orchids get watered about every 3-6 days. I need to change my thinking pattern to remember to water these every morning. I had planned to mount this one when it is finished blooming. Now I think it is doing so well in a pot that I am afraid to disturb it. There are several others, in pots in that tray, waiting to be placed on cork.......if I get the courage to do it. The large ones will stay in pots.
I have 2 on Swampsticks. Time will tell if my plants will like it there. I did buy several pieces of cork intending to use it so I can hang them instead of taking room in my trays. I love all the wierd looking pieces of cork or branches. The effect of all the different shapes is more interesting.
I have a friend from my church who is very 'Dutchey', quite new from Holland, so I thought she would enjoy these tiny little 'wooden shoes' My frostii went to church Sunday morning. I really don't think frostii got much out of the church service, he was confined in a box, but he got a lot of attention.
I wish you good luck with yours. I'm sure you will enjoy seeing it bloom, whenever it decides to bloom. I have no idea if they bloom only once a year or if the other litte bulbs will flower at will.
