Bulbo makoyanum....repeat flowering? General culture? Female
Default Bulbo makoyanum....repeat flowering? General culture?

Greetings!

I recently acquired my first Bulbophyllum. It's a small division of Bulbophyllum makoyanum. It is currently putting up its first flower spike. Yay!

I am just wondering if the pseudobulbs produce flowers only once, or do they produce repeat flowering over time?

I love this little 'chid and am very excited to see its first blossoms.

Soooooooooo cute!

Also, it seems to be doing OK in the bark chips in a plastic pot that it came in. But, I keep seeing recommendations that these plants do best in a basket or mounted.

Have y'all had good success with growing these 'chids in pots? I'm reluctant to move it, since it seems to be doing OK.

What do you recommend for fertilization schedule. I've read that it's a "heavy feeder".

Thanks for any info.

Jess

Congratulations on your flower spike....make sure not to wet the bud as it grows into full bloom....it might blast.
If it is growing well, do not make any drastic changes....
weekly weakly fertilizer
post pictures of your blooms!

Yay for spike! If it seems happy as it is, I'd continue the same. Good luck!
