Plum there are so many small to mid-sized bulbos, you can still get plenty of amazing blooms without getting a big medusae. gracillimum or tingabarinum are both smaller with lovely red or orange flowers. vaginatum is kind of like a mini medusae but the sepals aren't quite as long.

I was looking at this thread again with jealousy and pulled out my medusa, ready to yell at it for the hundredth time, and hold up... is that a spike? Please tell me it’s a spike. It’s a bit fatter than I would think the spikes would look like but, at the same time, a little too pointy for a growth. Have I finally done it?

Seriously, I’ve had this thing for something like 5 years? Can’t believe it’s taken me that long to find its sweet spot. Now watch the spike rot off tomorrow lol

you did not fist bump the air, i was there to meet you

even if the spike blasts, you are in the sweet spot...i find that i can have 109730 reasons a spike will blast and i can only control a handful, some plants that seem to never spike, they are the problem kids.

you will have your awesome fireworks display soon.

they only last a short while so enjoy

Thumbs up

You're a rock star. Thought I was pretty good with bulbos but my little #$%* has me pulling out what's left of my hair. In its defense, there is A spike beginning.
