Unhappy Peristeria cutting/keiki problem

I have a Peristeria little plant that has a few roots which was cut from the mother plant. I put it in a pot with a mix of medium and I put the roots in sphagnum moss. I’ve been watering once or twice week but it dries out really quick (south Florida heat). The leaves are turning yellow. I don’t know what to do to save it. Care tips online said it needs lots of water in the growing season. Does that count if it’s trying to establish? Should I do water culture or sphag and bag? Help!

Which peristeria? I have a pendula which is growing new roots and has new leaf growth. I can't imagine cutting it from the 'mother' bulb its growing from. Bit like removing a catasetum new growth - mostly pain. Good luck.

I think it’s the “dove” orchid. Maybe it shouldn’t have been removed but to be honest it came off the mother plant really easily. It’s a bulb with some roots. Any idea how to help her grow? Maybe some root hormone?
