Hello everyone! Just wanted to ask for suggestions to where to trim my Phal's stems? I've trimmed it once and it's bloomed beautifully on 2 occasions. I feel it's time for another trim but I'm confused where to do it! Sorry for not rotating the pictures.. I don't know how to do it 🙁 Thanks a ton for your advice!
If you cut them high, they'll sprout a secondary spike but it may be smaller. Cutting closer to the base, say an inch, will yield a whole new spike next season...or you can let the plant absorb the energy from them and just let them shrivel. Personally, I cut mine about an inch from the crown. The choice is yours.

I've done both ways. I seem to think that the plant concentrates too much energy on flowering. The ones I've cut back to the base / inch above the plant grow better than those I leave to re-bloom.
I’ve done it both ways too. Results are highly variable by plant. Some just push two or three new flowers from their old spikes others produce a spectacular second flush. I’ve started giving the stalk a month or two to linger after blooming (no cutting at all). If it sends up a new side spike, I leave it. If nothing happens, I cut it at the base.
