Default What are these growths?

As I may have said elsewhere, I bought a no ID Oncidium hybrid from the discount rack of a garden centre a few weeks ago. It was doing quite well - to my inexperienced eyes at least - until it suffered sunburn while we were away from home for a few days. I kept my fingers crossed that it would survive and was delighted to see a new growth emerging from the base of the last pseudobulb to flower. Its growth has been very slow compared to my Zygopetalum, whose growth is visible day by day, but has been steady and I’ll happily take that if it means the orchid is indeed coming round.

Today I have noticed three more growths from close to the new pseudobulb but not from it. I suspect they will turn out to be new roots but I really have no idea.

Your thoughts would be welcome.

Keith

It is starting new growths, so it will be fine.

Yes, they will form new pseudobulbs and new roots will sprout from the base of each one. Good job!

If these all turn into pseudobulbs that would be amazing. I suppose I shall just have to be patient, never one of my virtues!
