I think you should repot it. The orchid has reached the edge of the pot and all the new roots will grow outside the media. Eventually they will get attached to the pot and it will be almost impossible to remove the plant without damaging them.
You said there's a new growth, so maybe you should wait until it starts sending out new roots and then repot it.
As for these aerial roots, in my experience, and specially with Cattleyas, they will usually die if you put them in media as they're not used to it. Maybe if you use very chunky bark they will survive, but in moss they will definitely rot.
