Wondering if you repot a young Catasetum. Just bought 3 from SVO and was told they won't bloom until next season. I have new growth but not sure if the roots should be disturbed because they're so young. All in 3" pots. Don't know why, but Catasetum has me confused. Thank you in advance.

If you just got them from SVO, leave them in the pots that they came in for this season. They may fill/overfill the pots, but if they have started new growth, the roots are already far enough along that they shouldn't be disturbed. (Don't worry about having roots all over the place... you can drop the pot into a larger one with no medium, just to keep them from growing into the benches or each other or falling over) You can repot them next late winter while they are dormant, before they start to break dormancy. Also, by that time you will have a better idea of what size pot to use and how to orient the plant.
