Default New paph appletonianum seedling healthy?

Hi there,

I just got my first ever paph seedling in the mail today. It’s been in the mail for a few days. Does it look a little pale? Is the fake moss on the bark for a reason or can I remove it? Any tips for keeping it healthy? I’ve enclosed a photo. Thank you

The plant looks pretty good. The base of the plant is up in the air out of the medium. I would either repot now, with the base of the fan into new medium, or I would put more medium in that pot so the base is covered.

The moss is real and it's fine to have. Don't worry about it. Orchids grown in humid greenhouses have moss like that on top of the medium.

If you repot use something like fine bark that retains moisture. Seedling Paphs shouldn't dry out. They also do well in semi-hydroponics.
