Well I guess we all have our own way of doing things, and our own reasons. And Underneath It All, we all care very much for our plants and want the best for them.

One of the most frustrating and wonderful things about the OB is that we can agree to disagree. We all grow differently and in different climates.
This thread started with an idea because someone was cautious because they dote on their plants (whether overly so or not). The idea has premise let's accept that and move on please two snarks don't make a right...

Oh yess, but we also owe it to those coming into the hobby not to fill their heads with crap.
If your orchid dies after you wetted the crown, then you were doing something else badly wrong. Pinning the blame on a wet crown stops people working out what the real problem was, and that isn't helpful.
