I have radiant heat so my house probably isn't as dry as yours, but I don't bother humidifying my whole house and do as estacion suggests and use a room humidifier and keep my more finicky plants in that room. This also happens to be my bedroom so I can benefit from the humidity. If you have an open concept living space you'll find it difficult to humidify that space to levels above 35% in my experience. With the heat blasting, its sometimes difficult to get to 50% RH even in the smaller room with a big humidifier. I use a Honeywell cool mist humidifier that I refill once a day and thoroughly clean every week. I have to change the filter about every month or so. I usually keep my phals and some dens in the areas that aren't humidified and they do fine over the winter. The air roots usually pick right back up in the summer. To be honest, I've found that humidity is a lot of work, and I probably wouldn't put so much effort into it if I only had phals and a kingianum.

Much more affordable for me. I'll most likely put 2 in the kitchen/ living room. A small fan and 2 humidifiers should do it. 🤗
