I don't really have a goal.
The most immediate could be try to grow orchids of all genera, which is impossible.
Even now, to increase my collection, I'd need a greenhouse which won't be possible in my near future because I'd need to change home (I live in a flat).
So, for now, I'm satisfied on keeping my plants alive and blooming.

If it smells good, or looks really strange (flowers, pseudobulbs, leaves...). And, of course, if it is both of those then I must have it!
I prefer species or primary crosses. I do have some hybrids too, but so many of them look just too much like the next one. And so many hybrids weren't selected for fragrance either.
I'm a "window sill" grower in my apartment, so I also prefer small to medium sized plants.

I won't stop till I have every Latouriate Den known to mankind...!
Nah, just kidding. I dont have a goal, but I tend to buy floriferous types over plants that have large, singular blooms.

My goal at the moment is to try and not get anymore orchids as I seem to not be able to take care of what I have now ![Rolling Eyes](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif) good luck with that as I am also wanting to get more Masdevallia's now that I have a good place for them.

Ah, see, I am the exact opposite. I want every single stinky orchid there is. I think it is hilarious for something to have such a beautiful flower smell like crap and garbage

You need to look up Stapeliads. They are small plants in the milkweed family with star-shaped flowers that smell like, well, food for flies.

@SaraJean I do love that as well. I do grow in the my small apartment so that limits my enthusiasm a bit. I do have a Bulbophyllum echinolabium.
The best part is telling people, "This beautiful flower smells like rotting meat." And then watching them go in for a big sniff anyways.

That Bulbophyllum echinolabium is going to be fun when it blooms. ![Smile](https://www.orchidboard.com/community/images/smilies/new/smile.gif) Someone at my OS gave me a Bulbophyllum carunculatum seedling that was sold by Edgar Stehli. So, Monday at the OS meeting, I was talking to Edgar and I mentioned that I wasn't too worried as many of the stinky Bulbophyllum do not have a very strong fragrance. He assured me that when the parent is in bloom, he can smell it as soon as he enters his greenhouse. I am not sure what to tell the spouse as he complained bitterly when the cinnamon was in bloom and I had to pretend that I had no idea what the odor could be.
