That is probably correct. After the relatively cool humid night the flowers are fully hydrated and stiff. After the heat and lower humidity of the day they may not be. If you tested the leaves in the same way you might find the same. It may indicate the plant is slightly stressed at those times, and may shorted the life of the flowers, but as long as the roots are healthy the plant should be fine.
