Haven't is about few months. Wanted to update.
The little one died. But my larger one is doing WONDERFUL!!
Currently living outside with my Succulents. Loving the humid summer air here. Only watered about 1x a week.
Sorry about some of the blurry pictures. Tried to get pictures of the new beautiful roots and the crazy aerial roots.

Looks good! Now that you know how to grow orchids, you need to find a Paphiopedilum malipoense hybrid, bloom it, and use that photo for your avatar.

Hausermann's has Paphiopedilum Lynleigh Koopowitz seedlings now, which is delenatii x malipoense. They have a lot of other Paph seedlings, as well. I'm sure others will add to this list. In general, primary hybrids are easier to grow than species, but I'm familiar with neither malipoense nor its hybrids.

Sorry about the death but it happens to the best of use. Glad your other one is doing well and here's to hoping it will start spiking this fall. I have a malipoense, I got it from Seattle Orchids but I don't know if they have them now or not. It is the slowest growing thing, a snail is much faster. I have yet to get it to bloom or even get close to it. I believe I have had it for over a year. So I would take es's suggestion and start with a hybrid or at least perhaps a different paph.
