I have one of these at work on my desk hanging from a under the cabinet florescent light. it had three flowers when it arrived and now just opened another 3 from the same 3 spikes. I dunk it every day (sometimes every other) during the week skipping the weekends because Im not here. really cute. BTW the dunking doesnt seem to bother the flowers much as they dry quickly. its just kills the scent for a little while.
Mine smell like wet wood! I'd love to smell the scent you all smell, but I guess I'm not destined! But then 3 blossoms at the same time are quite a strike! BTW, welcome Randy!
Hi- I am a new orchid grower and I just bought a haraella retrocalla, and it is just at the end of blooming. Mine is on a wood mount with moss and I have been submerging it every couple days to keep it moist (although I can't avoid getting the bloom wet this way). Do you pinch off the blooms when they start to wither like other plants? I have read this can be a continuous bloomer which is part of why I got it- I'll never have the time to care for a lot of orchids. What should I be doing to encourage this guy to bloom often?
Congratulations on the bloom! It's so cute! I got one of these cuties from Andy's right after Christmas. It's my first mounted plant. I hope I can get it to bloom, too!
