New vs old leaf, where to shine the spot?

I want to add a bit light on the Vanda.
The sun light through my window is 3500 foot candles. The LED spot light intensity is about 2500 from 1 inch, but the spot is tiny, only enough to cover the small new leaf.

My question is, is it the right place to shine the spot?
Or should I shine it on the old stem/leaf below it, feed the baby through the mother approach?
