Default Strange Growth.

I noticed this strange inflorescence? on Blc.King of Taiwan 'Splendiferous'. I had something similar happen last year on one of the Catts, but the growth grew about 2" and then dried up. Does anyone have any idea what that is?

The catt in the first picture is mislabelled, and notice there are no sheath.

I could be wrong but I believe that is a flower spike with no sheath.

In the second picture it looks to me as though there is a very small sheath subtending the base of the pedicel.

It also looks to me like a flower bud.

That is a bud that has a small sheath. Not all Catts develop sheaths and since this is a hybrid it might not grow the big sheaths some Catts have.

I agree, they look like normal spikes/buds to me. I have some that grow without sheaths close to the leaf and others put out long spikes without sheaths.

Well, that sounds exiting. I just hope I can keep it alive.
Thanks, all.
