Well, the root mass on a lot of those plants is so great, shoving it into a small pot is just not on. If you look at the pots, you will see that they are wide, but very shallow, to allow good air penetration.

Agree! But apparently it works for Bil. I do not have the luxury of space to employ this potting culture.
Praying Mantis, lady bugs, and other carnivore insects are always welcome in my garden!

Yeah, they do take up space, but I am counting on good display when they have 8-10 canes per pot.
