New Psychop.
Hello everyone and for those of you here in the USA, I hope you are having a good Veteran day weekend.
So I being posting about my Psychop. Mariposa 'Twins' and how is in recovery and yesterday I posted about how I finaly cut the spike with a bud on it in order to help the plant save energy.
I guess my faced showed my sadness because today hubby came home with 3 Psychop for me and he did a really good job at picking them too.
When I ask him how come he got 3, his reply was "well you only have one of them and the store did not have the one you have, and I got you two of the same, that way if you kill one you will still have one left, the yellow one was an impulse buy after the lady told me this two would not flower for a while"
So this is what he got:
Psych. Butterfly Var. alba 'Canary' [Sanderae XPapilio]
and 2 of Psych. Kalihe. (one has 5 spikes and the other one has 3)
And guess what, he only pay $60 for all 3 plants! I really think he charmed her.

Now that is what I call an awesome husband! I recently ordered a plant that did not arrive when expected, my husband got me an adorable mini phal from the local box store as a consolation. Sometimes I wonder which one of us is more addicted to orchids

Waiting for my husband to get home so I can show him your post! Ah, but we can't complain, our wonderful husbands support us so well! I even infected mine - he now has a small vivarium with all his miniature orchids

Wow lucky you. I have not had much luck getting my dear hubby into the orchid craze, I even got him...hehehe 2 orchids. I get him the weird ones like my Bulbo and my medicalcar. I figured they had to be a bit different then if I can ever get them to bloom perhaps he will be hooked. A big IF I can get them to bloom.

I will, if and when it happens. I had to re-pot it the other day and am not sure if I did it right or not. It had some new growth going on but it also had a couple of parts drying up. It was just kind of stuck in the spagh and so I put it in a fruit cup that I burned holes in and I laid it sort of on top of the new spagh. I tried to put spagh over the top of the roots in hopes new ones will grow. The new growths still seem to be growing so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I so want it to live and bloom for me.

What a guy, better be keeping him. I'm showing this post to my husband later. Just saying That is so awesome, butterflies are the best. You'll have blooms for a long time, seeing as they are sequential bloomers.

Yes I think I'm keeping him. We being married 19 years and together 26, so I guess we are both for the long haul
All joking at side, he is a wonderful man, I'm a very lucky woman.
