I have used a product called Quantum Orchid, which I got through repotme.com. I haven't used it long enough to say for certain that it works wonders, but they advertise it as being probiotics for orchids. It looks a little like soy sauce lol

Interesting. There is a problem that used to occur in the UK, honey fungus, that would kill trees, and the way to prevent it turned out to be to mulch the area like crazy to encourage fungus growth. Same sort of principle, I guess.

If I'm not mistaken, Quantum Orchid and a few others out there consist of a single species of trichoderma fungus. The Inocucor Garden Solution product uses many species of bacteria and yeasts (not fungi) that have been developed into stable, non-competing consortia.

Each species imparts some protective and influential action on the plant and it's rhizosphere, and each one is different, making the Inocucor product more of a "broad spectrum" treatment (which works well with the trichoderma products, by the way).

Here's a recent review from an outdoor grower in Hawaii who got some sample material from me:

Quote:
"OK, after 3 applications roughly 10 days apart I can say that I see a noticeable improvement in my problem plants where fungal/bacterial problems are concerned. Spotting on leaves on my seedling Paphs and Phrags is almost completely gone and I am not sure if it is my imagination, but it seems like my entire collection looks to be 'healthier'. For those who are curious about my growing conditions during the last 3 weeks of testing they were as follows; Humidity from 51% up to 98%, Temps were from 51 degrees up to 80 degrees, Sun was intermittent, mostly or partly cloudy for the duration, and rained at least daily, or every night. Good news: I believe this is the ticket for me, doesn't hurt my dog or chickens, plants look good, and from additional info I saw on the web it actually aids in the uptake of nutrients. Bad news: I am out of the sample. Mahalo and Aloha" - Fred Dishman
