Coupla cuties....
Just a coupla new cuties for the summer. Also pics of the phals I repotted here a couple months ago. All doing fine and sending out roots and leaves. One has a small bulge between a leaf which I think will be a spike. And yes Mildred.....phals will grow leaves, roots, and spikes all at the same time.

Very nice plants. Are these all yours? I see a lot of plants in the background, also.

Thank you. Thank you. Yes these are all mine. My rescues. I acquired a couple of phals in normal condition. part of the roots starting to rot. part in good shape. Flowers look to be about 1 or 2 months old yet still ok. I took them to the Fair to show folks what they have when they buy them and what happens to most of them as time goes by. I find most folks kill them by drowning them. So I take the phal out of the pot to show them what's what. Show them how to pull all the moss out and then place it back into the pot. Then I explain how to water. If they are still interested, I tell them how to feed them. Lighting requirements and warmth. Then I invite them to the next club's meeting and tell them to bring their plants. We have three orchid clubs in San Diego. I volunteer as a docent. I either tell them all about the beetles and butterflies or I tell them about orchids. Really rewarding time. I spend all day sat and sun. Anyway, yes these are my plants. I have a bunch more getting ready to bloom. I'll post when they do. Here's our display. "Orchids and Pollinators." We have all kinds of bettles and butterflies. The last one is the worlds largest bettle. It is so large it had to be named big twice. It is called Titanus Giganteous.

Very nice. Those are cool butterfly/beetle displays, I love seeing the variety. But lordy, lord I do not know what I would feel seeing that beetle in person.
Nothing but respect!! (And maybe a little trepidation... )

That's an incredible display! I need to find something near me like this. I'm sure there is an orchid society somewhere, but it's hard to find the time.
It's really great that you spend time teaching others. I always feel compelled to help when I see a phal waning in a doctors office or at a patients bedside .
