Orchids without roots
Unhappy Orchids without roots

Hi everybody , I´m new in this forum and I have a pretty big doubt of my orchids
I bought 2 lycastes skinneri from Guatemala, they were in good shape and with good root system, but here in Querétaro México is too dry so maybe they took some time to tailor to the new climate although I do as much as possible for keeping good humidity in my greenhouse, spraying everyday, damping down the floor and putting buckets with water to increase the humidity from evaporation. The problem is that these lycastes lost all their roots, I'm still waiting the new growths to push out new roots but I don't see any new root, I read about the coconut fitohormones and I purchased superthrive, so I applied a mixture of superthrive and coconut water, misting it over the rizome to promove the root and pseudobulb, that mixture is the unique hormones and rootener available. The potting media is fern fiber and in the other lycaste is cattleya media with bark and volcanic rock, I have heard that the spagum moss moisture stimulates the roots growth so I put a little over the media. Referring to the conditions that I know are two, one is that I have to leave the plants with a constant temperature and moisture and with a few of light or to promove de develop give them medium light with warm temperatures to make the plant finishes the reseves and encourage the root and only spray it everyday avoiding the total dry out. I would like to know which of the last methods is better, what else can I do or if am I doing something wrong. Also I have 2 cymbidiums, one chysis bractescens and one cattleya without roots but all those ones have one new growth, I did exacly the same for them too. I want to save them for real.
I really apreciate your help . Thank you and have a nice day
These are my lycastes without roots

Welcome to the forum

I'm afraid I don't know much about these orchids, but your pictures aren't showing because the links are pointing to places on your own PC, so no-one but you can see them. Take a look at the links in my signature for tips on how to post photos.

Unless you've shared out your local hard drive (DON'T DO THAT!) we will never see your pictures. Two options, (1) upload your photos to here; or (2) upload them to photo hosting site like photobucket and provide the link to there.
