What kind of orchid is this? Female
Default What kind of orchid is this?

Hi everyone
I have an orchid that was given to me 3 1/2 years ago with no identification tag. It has never bloomed. Well it is finally getting ready to bloom. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of orchid it is. I will post more pictures once it blooms.
Thank you in advance for any information you can give me.

Looks like it could be a Zygopetalum.

Zygo's bloom first and then develop the bulb part.

Try to google that and see what you come up with, in terms of what it might look like.

I agree with Jeremy, Zygopetalum.

Thank guys
I searched that web and it does look like it could be a Zygopetalum. I'll post pictures once it booms.
Again, thanks.

I had the same thing, though only for 2 years, and it turned out to be a zygopetalum. It bloomed this year (with 2 stems!) for the first time in many years. The friend who gave it to me couldn't even remember what color it was or anything. Fantastic fragrance, too.
