Your flower looks very different from mine. The synsepal on mine is very close to the pouch. The sepals are more down, forward. I like the looks of your slipper better. Maybe next time mine will be similar to yours.
I hope I don't sound ungrateful, I'm happy I got it to bloom. It was such a long wait for the bud to develop, but I'm rewarded with a long bloom time. Took some ( bad) pictures tonight, but I think I captured the differences in our blooms .

I didn't get the feeling that you were ungrateful at all, and certainly wasn't trying to say that mine was better than yours. My intent was to show you that the forward held dorsal and down-swept petals are typical for this species.

As for the form being better next year, it's entirely possible. Right now I have a P. sukhakulii in bloom that normally holds it's petals well out to the side. This year they look as if they're trying to embrace the flower in front of them in spite of the fact that it's been in bloom for > 1.5 weeks.
