green house adventures!
Well with the changing of the seasons I have become more greatful fo4 havimg a small moveable greenhouse!
1. The sun is hitting it at different times and strengths than before causing some rather monstrous leaf burn on my larger oncids! Yikes!!!
2. I have a new friend in there helping with the bug issue. He did rather scare me at first thinking he was something I did not want to touch I have named him Flip. Even as I moved my house several times over he kept coming back. I told him he was welcome as lo g as he wants to stay.
3. Okay so I thought okay this is not a top of the line little green house it may need some help....boy howdy was I ever wrong....I lightly water everyday when I get home and man we had 90* hogh today and when i opened it today after having all the vents closed I thought I was walking into a sauna! You could alnost see the steam rising. Whew!
4. Seems the babies are enjoying it I am seeing new growth galore.
5. And finally African Lavendar Stinks ungodly bad, and 2 gardenia blooms smell up the whole joint if I could have caught my dog sniffing the blooms it would have been worth a thousand bucks!

Good for you. Give Flip some meal worms from the pet store. My big bull frog loved them. Nice potential dendro bloom. I paint my GH with white paint to moderate the light somewhat. Latex is best as it can be taken off if you want.

Thank you. This will be the first orchid I have. Gotten to spike myself! More pop out everyday. Whwn the blooms begin to open I will place it in my kitchen so it will smell my home up nicely.

yep, I grow in south-facing windows and for the next few months I have to be really careful about orchid placements. Leaf burn can happen in a few hours.
