Worm tea has no worms in it....just a lot of highly available nutrients from the metabolic and composting actions of the worms....I bet it will make my orchids quiver with delight! Like, OH! that's good stuff, that worm tea!

One grower told me that I can use the seaweed every week, is natural product.

I'm using seaweed extract with every watering (very weak solution). I had to stop using it on my Phals though, 'cause they got too many roots and had to be repotted twice a year.

Hehe hey if it works and they are growing I would have kepy it up.

I agree with you on that one! Too much potential for rot organisms. For example, Erwinia is known to inhabit cultivated soils and plant residues (the sort of places earthworms like!!)

Trust me, not when you end up repotting the buggers twice a year, and I hate repotting Phals!


I do give my Paphs seaweed extract though, since they're not as enthusiastic when it comes to producing roots. Okay, I have a few Paphs that are starting to get massive root systems, too, but so far, I don't need to repot them that often.

All but one of my phals are mounted so grow roots grow is my personal opinion lol. I am trying to get them to atrach along with my schomburgkia,and bulbo haha.

My paph godefroyea has a single root I am fighting to keep alive and 2 baby roots coming in so I am using it each week on that one for hopeful new growth. I have a monster paph I think got dunked daily b4 I got it it had so many roots on it.
