Beallara Advice Please?
So last weekend I bought a Beallara Snowblind 'Sweet Spots' from a nearby greenhouse. It was on one of those 'plant rescue' clearance racks but I didn't really see anything wrong with it other than some minor leaf damage and the fact that the flowers look like they're probably nearing the time they'll start to fall off (there's some yellow areas on the spike, and a few of the blooms are curling a bit).
The thing is, I'm very new to growing orchids, and have had a hard time finding information on this particular type. I found a care sheet for oncidium orchids, but it was pretty un-specific - a whole lot of 'it depends on the plant' stuff.
When I brought it home I did re-pot it. I know you shouldn't until the blooms have fallen, but I had struggled so much with the root-rotted phals I got from local hardware stores it made me kind of paranoid. The roots looked very healthy as far as I could tell, and there were a ton of them. I very carefully pulled out the old mix, and put it in a slightly larger clay orchid pot, in fir bark mixed with charcoal and perlite and some sphagnum moss because it seemed from the info I did find that the Beallaras like to be kept wetter than the Phals I'm used to.
So did I do okay? I had planned to water it a couple times a week, and I have a couple different fertilizers but wasn't sure which ones to use. Also, I noticed when I brought it home that the pseudo-bulbs look pretty wrinkled. I read that this could be from lack of water, so does that mean I should water it more often for a while? I have a bad habit of over-watering plants to death, so I want to be careful...
Sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance!
