Has anyone stopped buying more orchids?

You ARE kidding, right. I received three on Thursday and one is due on Tuesday and then there is the HOS meeting next Thursday and then the HOS show in April. When is there time to stop?

Well, today, I went to a small orchid show, and three new plants followed me home . BUT I was fairly choosey... two small species, and one hybrid that at least isn't big now - don't know how big it will get, but it's a bloom-size division; pbulbs aren't monsterous, and rhizome looks somewhat compact...

Going to shows, going to sales at the stores, I never stop, its like.....I have to have it

yeah I had to stop and make some sense out of what I was doing. I was all over the globe with my stuff and much of it was suffering. They still suffering but I understand more now about what it is I want from these plants and expect from them. When I start picking stuff out and dumpin them bec they are irreparably ugly Ill get some more..

Money and space have reduced my purchases ( I went to the Volusia show last year and didn't buy anything! ) and increased my selectiveness, but there's always room for 1 more of the right type, and I do have a nice long wishlist and a few vendors bookmarked to drool over.

Problem buying is, I've had a run of vendors that either don't seem to be there anymore or they don't ever respond to repeated attempts to contact them- it's like the one time the phone was answered it was by mistake.

I did buy a few at the Tamiami show and rescued a BLC Sweet Norma bag baby though, and have a trade lined up for when the weather's warm cross country.
