SOS--Brown Spots on Leaves

Hi! I'm a newish orchid person. This is my first post, so hello everyone. I wish I were writing under better circumstances!
I just divided an orchid for the first time, one I have had for two years and had outgrown its pot (plus, I suspected the material had broken down).
Upon repotting, one part is doing quite well, while the other is developing brown spots on its leaves. What do I do? I know the pot I put it into is a bit too big. But is that really what has caused this? It has only been in its new pot for about a week. Most of the spots are showing up on the newest growth.

Wait! More information! I just went to look at the leaves again, and in the one week since I repotted the orchid, it has put out new flower spikes!
This is the first time it has done so since I purchased the orchid in bloom.
I'm now EXTRA confused, as the leaves would suggest it is doing very poorly, but the spikes would not. Am I wrong?

Orchids are stimulated to bloom by stress. I have seen the spots before, but on older leaves. The yellow circles indicate a secondary bacterial infection has been at work too.

Bottom line is, I suspect a root problem and the subsequent stress has caused the spots as well as the repotting has brought your plant into spike. Watch it, keep it away from your other plants and see what develops.

You might also consider placing this post on the pest and disease section of the OB. There are a lot of people there who tend to frequent that part of OB, love a problem to solve and can tell you what steps to take next.

Right now I have it sequestered.
The plant seemed really healthy before repotting, and the roots looked great when I divided it. I used sterilized tools, etc.
