Also since the plants came out of moss they might not enjoy dry bark. They were used to having it more moist around their roots.

You might want to soak these a bit - just leave the pot in a container with water just to slightly below the surface of the media (if you used styro in the bottom of the pots, this won't work- it will try to float) - leave for 15-30 minutes. That will help moisture retention a bit til the bark is a bit older

Soaked the bark overnight, so all should be good. I hope all this moving isn't stressing the plants out. Den #1 and the phal appear to be doing good, but Den #2 seems to be sulking a bit with shriveling canes and yellowing leaves. Let's just hope it's just unhappy with it's recent move, and it will bounce back after it becomes acclimated.

I hope it does but even if it doesn't you have another one so that's good!

It also might be reacting to the treatment it received in the store. Those stores don't have a clue about taking care of orchids. That's why so many rescues come from there.

I'm so jealous!! Our local Lowe's never has anything but Phal's! Meijer get's some pretty nifty interesting phal's in their stores, but they don't mark them down, they just trow them away!!! You have to give prop's to Lowe's for being one of the few stores to mark down plants rather than throw them out once they stop blooming. Your plants look pretty good. Good luck!

I've had two Phals limp back from the brink of death, with not one healthy root left (mostly just the thin cores without the sheath), so they're pretty darned hearty plants unless you've got a brown thumb. Nice score on the clearance! I think you'll be able to nurse them back to health and it'll feel better doing that over starting off with a big healthy expensive one.
