White Phalaenopsis Hybird Appears to be dying

I have a white phalaenopsis orchid that I recieved as a gift. I had trouble with it when I first recieved it because I had never had one before, but it did bloom and then the flowers began to fell off and I read that it wasn't getting enough light so I moved it to a different room. I also had trouble regulating the water. Well the orchid never rebloomed, but the stems and leaves always stayed green so I fertilized it and repotted it and let it sit directly in the sun because I thought it was over watered. Well finally one of the stems started to brown and now the one steam looks completely dead and it's leaf has fallen off, but the other stem is doing that too except at the bottom and the leaf has not fallen off yet and is still very green. I attached some pictures so any advice or help will be greatly apperciated. It was such a beautiful plant while it was blooming and I really don't want it to die, it has a lot of senitmental value to me. SO thanks again!
