Default New Phals from Hausermann's

I had a nice drive out to Hausermann's today, dreaming of orchids... ahhhh.... It's like heaven, it really is. I've attached a few pics of like ONE room from the place. It's waaaay bigger than my camera could ever capture.

I got:

Phal NOID (pink and huge)
Phal equestris X self (square pot)
Phal Amber Rain 'Yellow Haze' (I love the buttery yellowish goodness of these!)

Hopefully, I can continue keeping everything alive. Enjoy the pix!

Don't worry--the candles are just there to discourage the kitties from visiting the orchids.

I'm envious of those of you with the space to make this kind of purchase. Great haul.

Very nice!
I hate to be a stick-in-the-mud but...I'd check to see what's down in the pot right away. They may be in need of repotting.

Oh, don't worry--I bought a bag of bark while I was there! Especially because that big monster is in MOSS. ACK! I can't do the moss. Do you think that pinkie will drop a bunch of buds if I replant her? Plus, that stick is a little wobbly, so I want to make better support.

Also, I know it's bad to have flowers on top of electronics such as TVs because it can cause them to wilt. Do you think stereos are a problem, too?

Be sure and repot the others as well. Several of us who have ordered from this vendor have had problems with the plants and the medium being in poor condition. My Phal. equestris x self arrived with some root rot. It's doing fine now after I performed surgery and repotted. It's blooming it's little brains out. You'll really like this one. Best to err on the side of caution. As Sue already said you need to see what's going on underneath.

Well, as long as I've got the bark, I might as well go for it! Especially if some of you have experienced bad things from purchasing there. From learning from you all, I was sure to be very picky about the plants I chose. I will repot tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!

Just repotted. One of them did have some sausage-link type dead roots in there, but I'd say overall, they looked good. That big one has some HUGE roots. I kind of wanted to just leave it out of the pot, so I could stare at them! But I put it back in there and gave it some extra support for its weight. I'll let you know if it blasts to death because of my meddling.
