HI...new here...need advice..:)
hi
this is my phal , it's with me for abt one yr. It had shed old leafs grew new ones, recently I have re-potted it ( I found a small snail peeping out of the potting media )
while repptting I observed the initial root segments were missing (I suppose the snail has njoyed them for dinner ) but bottom part of the roots r doing well
this has nt bloomed since I have bought it, pls tell me if it is in a good shape. wat do I need to do make it bloom ?
I live in India, we get charcoal nd coco chips mix as potting media, I water it once in 3 days.
thanks for the help guys

It looks in good shape to me, a little beaten up, I think the snail may have muched on the leaves a little, but otherwise good.
In that pot you can see the roots at the bottom. Rather than watering once every 3 days, which may not be right at all times of year or in all weather, I would water when those roots at the bottom take on a slightly silvery sheen. That's a good sign with this type of orchid as to when you should water.
My only other comment is it looked a bit dark. I think the leaves look like they have been in pretty low light.
Phals don't like direct sunlight, but they need enough light. I would try moving it a little bit brigher (not to much in one go) and see how it does. I would expect the leaves to get a little lighter, but not too much, and if it get's a red tint it might be too much. Make sure you don't move it suddenly to much brighter light. They like to adapt slowly and might burn if moved suddenly to bright light.
If you've only had it a year I would not worry too much. When you buy them they usually are blooming out of sequence because of the way the nursery forces blooms. Later in the year as the temperatures drop is when a healthy Phal is likely to start a spike. It might not have been ready last time if it was not long after it bloomed.

It might just be a darker leaved Phal, some are darker than others. It just struck me as a bit dark but if it's always been like that don't worry too much.

Welcome Ruparay.
Ditto to what Rosie said. Getting that snail out of there should help your phal. A good sign that your plant is doing well is a new leaf tip growing from the top and healthy roots. You didn't mention anything about fertilizing your guy. Using a balanced liquid fertilizer regularly will reward you down the road. I don't know what is available in your area. You might check with a nursery. I fert. my collection every 2 weeks and some get it weekly, weakly.
