Makes sense. Thanks!

I have to agree with King - and I learned that lesson the hard way. One of my phal's put out a keiki on the tip of an old flower stalk in the fall but otherwise looked healthy. I thought nothing of it and left it alone. However, then the keiki started trying to flower and the mother plant went down hill fast. I checked the roots and they were rotted out. The flowering and the keiki just drained her dry and pushed her over the edge. Apparently, she was just barely holding on as it was.
