Epidendrum Burtonii in Bad condition.. Help!!
Exclamation Epidendrum Burtonii in Bad condition.. Help!!

Hi all,
I acquired a cheap epidendrum burtonii yesterday. I felt sorry for the plant, so I bought it. There are two cuttings one small and one fairly large with roots along its length. Also the previous owner cut off the flower spike. Can the flower spike grow into a plant?
Also the leaves of the larger cutting have brown spots, they look like scale insect attack, but I read something about a fungus which attacks their leaves.
Could anyone give me any advice on how to make these cutting survive?

Thankyou
Ana

Ugh!

Who the... named this hybrid with a species type cultivar name (I can only assume it's some dude named Burton...)?! Makes research harder! So confusing...

Epidendrums in general are fairly hardy.

Some Epidendrums can keiki from areas that are near the vicinity of the spike. I don't think that the spike itself could turn into another plant.

If it's got roots and a few leaves, its got a chance of survival.

Pics and info about your intended growing area would be helpful if you need further assistance.
