HELP HELP !! weird looking things on catasetum - Page 3 - Orchid Board

oic........the spike is doing well now...except that it really looks like a shoot at the base. now 5 flower buds emerging, will update once it blooms. maybe this hybrid could only have 5 flower in a spike at max. the previous 2 spike is the same amount of flower as well.

well the catasetum eventually bloomed today, but unfortunately only two of the five buds eventually developed. got heavy infestation of tetranychus in the mid of development.
just want to post update and also a happy spider building its home in the flower

hi...final update for this thread.....
today i decided to repot this particular pot of catasetum and i just noticed that this particular "funny" spike that i mentioned with its own roots eventually develop a mini bulb at the base of the spike and guess what.....??
this makes the spike is coming from the tip of the bulb and not from the base which is unusual for catasetum
