This may be an unusual question but I can't wait for this question to be answered. Ahhh...... Which orchids can survive and thrive in freezing conditions? I am from New York, so weather here is horrible during winter months. I am planning to plant orchids outdoor, which will stay outdoor even in winter months.
There are many orchids will thrive in or are native to the northeast US. All of them are terrestrial. You could grow Cypripedium, Calanthe, Spiranthes, Bletilla, and probably many others. Some will grow well in a garden but others may require some special considerations.
YES!... I thought I was crazy for asking this question. I can't wait to start hunting for this plant. Please keep listing the names of these orchids that can survive or native to northeast..... Thanks for the reply.
Do a web search for Plant Delights Nursery, Wild Orchid Company, and Gardens at Post Hill.
Are you from the Philippines? I have many orchids from there, I would love to go someday.
First of all, thanks for the replies. Yes, I am. It will be great if you have a plant permit, so you can bring some orchids over. Orchids there are dirt cheap... Don't forget to go to Pampanga!
