Help I hurt my Phal's spike... Female
Default

Hello everyone!

I've just joined the forum. After half a year or so since the three keikis appeared on my phal, I decided to remove them from their mom and pot them separately.

On the mother phal, between two keikis there was a flowering stem developing. In removing the second keiki I hurt the new developing stem (less then a cenimeter big).

I am completely desperate and don't knwo what to do.

Should I cut the phal and remove the hurt stem or wait and see if it will continue growing?

Thank you soooo much.

I would just let it be. It will either grow or it won't. When one stem is injured the plant will often send up another but there's no guarantee. Cutting it off won't accomplish anything and may harm the plant further. Just care for it as usual and it may reward you in the end.

Default Phal flowering spike

just wanted to share the good news with everyone

Tiny flowering spike that I hurt while removing the keiki has so far not grown.

However, on the node below on the major flowering spike there is ne growth.

I cannot tell yet if it's a new flowering spike or a new keiki but will keep you updated and will add a photo once this new growth is visible.
