Orchid ID?
Default Orchid ID?

Hi everyone,

Bought this orchid for my wife for her birthday 2 years ago. Great blooms for about a year!! (See pictures)

I don't know what kind it is and am very new to orchids but it seems very interesting and kind of a neat side hobby.

Can someone tell me what kind it is and if they care to elaborate, growing temp/light/moisture/etc.? I can obviously find this out after I know the type of orchid but you all seem pretty informative!

Thanks

and welcome!
Your's is a phalaenopsis - and very pretty at that!
I will let others that have more success at growing them give you some care info - tho I guess you are doing pretty well with the care you are providing

Phals prefer relatively low light levels, which can be provided by an east or shaded west or shaded south window. It likes lots of water but also lots of air around the roots, and should never be wet. The pot is best allowed to dry almost completely before it is watered again. Temps should be warm - standard room temperature works. In order for the plant to bloom, temps should drop at least 5 C at night. A balanced fertilizer at 1/4 strength is best applied every week.

If you've had it for 2 years, I don't think you need any of this information though!
