In what context have you heard it used before?

Nooks and crannies, in terms of little tiny tiny spaces that you can barely fit a pinhead through, but dirt always manages to get in there.

Tindo this just occurred to me you are looking for a blue orchid and a vandacious orchid, (don't know why it took so long) . This would be my recommendation to you, Ascocenda Princess Mikasa 'blue variety' based on my experience over past year of growing mine in less than ideal conditions.
This is my Ascocenda Princess Mikasa 'Mood Indigo' that I received exactly a year ago today. The first picture is last year and second picture is this year. It bloomed in the summer and blooms lasted about 6 weeks and bloomed again in winter and blooms lasted about 10 weeks. It is in double spike again as I write this.

OmG! That is beautiful!!!
You know me like a book. I am looking for blue Vandas, hehe. Specifically that one, but never believed I would be able to grow it up here in the North East. How do you do it in Canada?

It is not a Vanda. By the way, this Ascocenda has reputation of the very easy bloomer among Vandas and Ascocendas. That's why it is recommended as a first plant for the person who wants to grow Vandas and Ascocendas.

Shadow answered your question. I would have to say it is one of the best performing orchids that I have (if not the best). It amazes me for the conditions I can provide for it how well it does.

Wow Ken that is an amazing plant. So very beautiful.
I bought a vanda manuvadee FCC/RHS that is slowing dying a certain death. I bought it potted in lava cinders which I thought odd at the time. The vendor I bought it from said the cinders drained faster than bark and that vanda's didn't like to have their feet wet all the time. The first time I watered it I noticed some small (almost invisible) white insects crawl up from inside the pot. By the time I figured out I might have a problem 90% of the root system was gone. I don't know if it was due to root rot or the insects. I immediately repotted into coco, and that seemed to slow down the degeneration but I really think it was too little too late. It's down to 3 leaves with one about to drop. I'm getting a shipment of s/h stuff from Ray sometime next week so may try running some KLN though and see if I can get some new roots to grow but I'm not holding out much hope at this point. I would love to be able to save it so any ideas on what to do I'll take.

I have to agree. It will be the first orchid I buy, when I increase the size of my growing area.
