Default New Orchids from Ebay

YAY! I am so excited, I have 3 new orchids coming from ebay. Angraecum Magdalenae (been wanting this for a while), Phalaenopsis violacea coerulea, and a Cattleya, that they call LC New Blue not sure what exactly that is supposed to be, but it is LC Mini Purple ‘Blue Hawaii’ AM/AOS X LC Mini Purple ‘Blue Sky. None of these are blooming size, but close to it? So excited though to get these, can't wait to introduce these new babies, to others at home!

Congradulations. Those are 3 nice ones. Just so that you know your "Lc New Blue" proper name is Lc. Mini Purple. It should have nice fragrant "blue" flowers. In fact all of yur selections are fragrant. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. Enjoy.

As to Myst's comment, I agree that I'd like to know the vendor. Not that I plan on buying anything, but some vendors on eBay are less than... "reliable." Hopefully you shopped well and got these from a good source, in which case, you should definitely be pleased with these blooms!

Ted's right. Mini Purple x Mini Purple = Mini Purple. 'New Blue' is probably the cultivar epithet (hence the single quotes), distinguishing this plant as the result of crossing the cultivars 'Blue Hawaii' and 'Blue Sky'.

I must say, nice picks.

The Magdalenae is coming from the seller "oorchid", store is Treetop Orchids. The violacea coerulea, "new blue" are coming from "jewellorchids". I know I had checked "oorchid" using that website that reports only the negative feedbacks on ebay, and he/she looked good. I also had emailed them and asked how they ship, since I know that angraecums don't like their roots being disturbed, and they said they ship in pot. I was actually surprised though, that I got the violacea for 12.95! I had been watching those, and even one from the same seller had gone for about 30 earlier that week (?). I even saw one go for $67 just the day before. And NO ONE even bid against me on the one I won. Looking through completed auctions, I really didn't see any in the past month (other than ones that the sellers had buy it now prices of $49) that did not have more than one bidder! Can't wait to see what the color will be on that, once it does flower.

I had also kind of looked around on here, and it appeared that both of these sellers were mentioned as being good.

I've used them both. Treetop packs shipments very well. Jewell Orchids (Georgia) is a very reputable grower - quality plants. You will be very pleased.

FYI - Jewell Orchids will combine shipping on plants purchased through ebay & thier retail website. That way if you win one of their auctions, you can go to their site and do a little shopping for a reduced shipping rate. All you have to do is let them know.
